Lil Nas X was charged with four felony on Monday after police said they indicted him last week when he stood up to him for walking naked down Los Angeles Street.

The 26-year-old Old Town Road rapper, Montero Lamar Hill, pleaded not guilty to court appearances to three batteries in one count of which he was injured by a police officer on Monday and resisted executive officers, the District Attorney's Office said.

The charges are far more serious than the original report that he was being investigated for a misdemeanor, and following the conviction, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said the NAS could be up to five years in state prisons.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said officers found NAS walking naked on Ventura Boulevard before 6am Thursday.

The department said it charged officers when they were arrested in the face. Police suspected of a possible overdose and took him to the hospital, where he spent several hours before being taken to prison. He remained behind the bar after his arrest.

The criminal complaint filed in court on Monday contains little details about the case, but for each of the three officers, he said he “illegally used force and violence and injured” someone “reasonably should know.”

“Attacking officers is not merely a crime against those individuals, and is not a direct threat to public safety,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a press release. “Everyone who attacks law enforcement, regardless of who they are, or how well-known they are, will face serious consequences.”

The 26-year-old rapper's father defended his son after pleading not guilty to four felony charges.

Robert Stafford told reporters that the NAS is “very repentant of what happened.”

“He's just getting the help he needs and keep him in your prayers,” Stafford said Monday. “Give him the same grace and mercy that God gives to everyone.”

He added that his son is “good” and that he “does something amazing mentally.”

“We wept tears and laughed, but he's fine. He's going to be great,” Stafford said.

The NAS is scheduled to return to court on September 15 for the next pre-trial hearing.

In 2019, the rapper rose to fame after his groundbreaking single, Old Town Road, became a viral hit.

The NAS is set to release his second studio album, Dreamboy, later this year.
