Kelsey Grammer is officially a father again at the age of 70.
The Frasier star appeared on the Pod Meets World podcast on Monday and announced that he and wife Kate Walsh, 46, recently welcomed a baby boy named Christopher.
This is the 70-year-old actor's eighth child and his fourth with Walsh.
Grammer told Boy Meets World actors Daniel Fishel, Will Friedle and Rider Strong that their couple “just had their fourth child, making their total eight children.”
“That was three days ago,” the Cheers actor added. “Christopher, we just joined the family.”
Ms Walsh's pregnancy was announced in June after a photo published by People magazine showed Ms Grammer walking in a London park next to her wife in a flowing black dress. They were joined by three children: Faith, 13, Gabriel, 11, and James, 8.
The Frasier star and Walsh wed in New York City in February 2011 following his divorce from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Camille Grammer, with whom he shares daughter Mason, 24, and son Jude, 21.
Grammer is also father to daughter Spencer, 42, with ex-wife Doreen Alderman, and daughter Greer, 33, with ex-wife Barry Buckner.
He previously talked about how his work as an actor helped him become a great father.
“My kids, my younger kids, my older kids, the happiest I've ever been is when they're all in the same room together,” Grammer told Variety in June 2024. “My job has allowed me to do that. I've had this amazing experience. It's been painful and challenging and difficult and tragic. All of that. But, well, it's a wonderful life. And I want to tell them that.”

In the same interview, Grammer hinted that some of his children might want to follow in his footsteps in the entertainment industry.
“Kate and I were talking about how great it would be for a child to follow in his father's footsteps,” he said. “To think that all of my children, at least the ones who are ready to take charge of their own lives, are drawn to this industry.[Kate]said, 'That's something to be proud of.'
Last May, Grammer told People that she was “playing catch” with her older children.

“I've neglected some children in my life, especially my first two,” Grammer told the magazine. “Right now I'm trying to make up for it a little bit. I'm still their father, so there's always a chance to show up.”

He also said that once he has children of his own, he will try to help them learn from his past mistakes.
“I probably should have been a little more explicit and tolerant of older people,” he said. “I'm pretty tolerant of young people, but it's clear that there are certain expectations and a certain way of navigating social situations. Keep it close to the vest, play it straight, and you'll get good results in life. I'm a little more specific with them about studying and being prepared. (I tell them), 'What's your life's work?
