Is there a way for other AI coding tools to penetrate the minds of startup founders? The same goes for past Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini Code Assist, GitHub CoPilot, other AI-wrapped VSCode forks, and vibecoding phenomena like Replit and Lovable.
Amazon wants to try the tried-and-true method of distributing tools for free.
In his keynote address at the re:Invent 2025 conference, AWS CEO Matt Garman announced that eligible early-stage startups will receive one year of free credit on competitor Kiro Pro+. These startups can request free credits for up to 100 users.
However, there are limitations. Only startups that secure VC funding from pre-seed to Series B are eligible. U.S.-based startups are also eligible, but this offer is not available in all countries. Geographical restrictions include France, Germany, Italy, most of South America, and, of course, countries subject to trade sanctions. Applications must be submitted until December 31st.
