If Easter Bunny is planning on unloading wooden bunny toys this year, you might want to check out the label first.

Health Canada issued a recall Wednesday, warning consumers to immediately stop using wooden bunny stackers, a toy for children sold by Gantz, due to chemical hazards that include excessive lead levels.

The orange silicone disk contains levels of lead that exceed the acceptable limits under toy regulations, poses a risk of lead exposure to children, Health Canada said.

According to the health agency, lead is toxic, especially when ingested by children.

Lead exposure can lead to a variety of serious health issues, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases brain damage, convulsions, and coma. It can also affect the liver, kidneys, heart, and immune system.

Lead accumulates in the body over time, so even low levels of continuous exposure can be harmful, Health Canada added.

So far, there have been no reports of injuries and only three of the toys sold in Canada were on sale between November 2024 and March 2025. But if you have a product (find item number BGE10631 and UPC 696322744489), Health Canada says it should stop it immediately.
