The city of Abbotsford in Fraser Valley, British Columbia, says it will not issue a permit for Sean Fake's concerts, making it the latest Canadian cancellation of American Christian musicians who have become outspoken in America's great once again movement.
The city said in a statement that permission for the proposed August 24 show at Mill Lake Park has been denied due to possible protesters and protesters.
Heather Maa, a BC Conservative MP who represents Chilliwack North, said on social media platform X that Abbotsford's decision “undermines the principles of an open democratic society.”

Maahs says the cancellation raises “serious concerns” about freedom of expression, religion and peaceful assembly.
Feucht failed as a Republican congressional candidate in 2020, and has been criticised for his remarks about the LGBTQ+ community and abortion.

Six of his concerts in central and eastern Canada were cancelled last week.
“Given the recent publicity surrounding the proposed event, the city believes the event could attract a significant number of protesters and protesters, in addition to attendees,” the city of Abbotsford said in a statement.

“These factors have made it extremely difficult to mitigate community safety considerations, among other things, for the proposed event, and the city has discovered that permit conditions cannot adequately address the potential risks for the public.”
Feucht criticized X's cancellation.
“When Abbotsford cancels outdoor worship to Jesus, he no longer can call Abbotsford the BC “Bible Belt,”” Fauchtts says in the post.
Feucht is scheduled to play at West Kelowna on August 23rd, and the city was considering a safety and security plan for private bookings earlier this week, calling it “higher concerns” about the concert.
