Senator Bernie Sanders stood on stage at Coachella, California on Saturday night, galvanizing festival attendees to confront Donald Trump's policies.
The 83-year-old spoke to the crowd before introducing the singer and activist Clayro.
Before his speech, U.S. Senator Sanders from Vermont had attended a rally in Los Angeles as part of a wider lecture tour aimed at explaining the Trump administration.
“This country faces some very difficult challenges and the future of what will happen to America depends on your generation,” he told the cheering crowd.
“We need you to stand up to fight for justice and fight for economic justice, social justice, racial justice,” he continued.

With a mention of Trump's name, the crowd began boosing, and Sanders replied, “I agree.”

He went on to briefly outline the importance of universal healthcare, protecting abortion rights and reducing the impact of climate change – Donald Trump said he labeled it as a “hoax” and to spotlight the impact of US economic inequality
Sanders also praised Cleiro for speaking up on behalf of Gaza women. The senator, popular among young people, lost his democratic presidential nomination to Hillary Clinton in 2016 and then ran again in 2020 as former President Biden's last major competitor.
Sanders, who is not affiliated with any party, has been seen several times in recent weeks, along with Democrat New York lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The pair are participating in a joint anti-orical key campaign targeting Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
