    More pistachio products are being recalled in Canada due to the potential for salmonella contamination. This is the latest recall issued this week for pistachio-related products, including Virus Dubai brand chocolate bars.

    It's the latest recall of some Andalos branded baklava pastry products.

    The seven Andalos products that were recalled are:

    Baklavas Rectanglesbaklavas Trianglesbaklababaklava Pistachio Wardahbaklava Pistachio Burmabaklava Al Bolbol Pistachiobaklava Catering Tray

    The recall also includes seven products not associated with the brand, including Baklava Aswara Pistachio, Knafeh Ashta and Znoud El Set.

    According to a recall on Thursday, the product was distributed in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and online.

    The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recall was caused by an agency's discovery during an investigation into the outbreak of foodborne babies.

    The outbreak involving Salmonella sent nine people to hospitals and consumed a product containing pistachios, including a certain brand of pistachios and products containing pistachios, making roughly five dozen people sick.

    So far, three-quarters of people who have become ill in the outbreak are women, according to the Canadian Public Health Agency.

    PHAC says many people became ill after eating products containing pistachios and food, prompting additional warnings that the recalled pistachios may have been used and sold in baked goods.

    Canadians are advised to call their healthcare provider if they believe they have become ill from consuming recalled products.

    Foods contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell, but they can still make people sick.

    People are urged to check if they recall the products and check whether to return them to where they were purchased or to throw them away.

    Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting and nausea, but the CFIA warns that young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems may develop a more serious and fatal infection.

    The CFIA says it is confirming that the industry is removing recalled products from the market.
