On Friday, more than 300,000 people lined up in downtown Calgary, watching this year's Calgary Stampede Parade, hoping to capture the smiles and waves from the former Shania Twain S of the parade.

In a one-on-one interview with Jeff MacArthur, host of the morning show on Global TV, the country music legend mirrors the way she invited the saddle to the forefront of this year's parade.
“So last year I was hanging out with a new friend I made in Calgary. They were very involved with Stampede and said, 'Oh, I want to ride a horse in the parade and try it right there.' And I said, “Well, you know, not everyone can be the ex-s of the parade – yeah, I'm sure it's never going to happen,” Twain said.

“Then I get the call. So I don't know how it happened, but I'm really happy.”
“I am extremely proud to be wearing this gorgeous hat that was given to me for the parade,” Twain added. “This is my hat of pride and joy now.”
Despite performing in Calgary many times over the course of her musical career, Twain said she never participated in Stampede.
“I love meeting people. I love people. I love excitement. I'm going to eat energy and just enjoy myself. I really say hello to a lot of people from the saddle. That's the exciting part,” Twain said.
Shania Twain said being named parade former for this year's Calgary Stampede Parade is like a dream come true.

On Saturday, the five-time Grammy winner will make another appearance in Calgary as he takes the stage for a concert at the Sadore Dome.
“It's going to be crazy in a really good way – a very exciting way – it's just to really have a party and fun,” Twain said. “I love forgetting life for a while, like when I'm on stage.
