Panthers wide receiver Hunter Renflo was out of the league last season after struggling with his health, but Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Renflo has steadily improved since signing with the Panthers a month ago.
Canales said Renfrow has shown “the muscle memory of a man who is a really good player” and has looked better alongside the team every week.
“Every week he makes these great progress and just puts his feet under him,” Canales said of Renflo. “Coaching a wide receiver, I can say he has a lot in the game: releases, route setup, avoidance, you can see him double things at the top of his route and working through his inventory.
Renflo recorded a 1,000-yard season for the Raiders in 2021, but played modestly in 2022 and 2023 after missing all of 2024 in 2024 and 2023. He suffers from ulcerative colitiscan cause very serious intestinal symptoms during flare-up, but can lead to remission in response to treatment.
We're asking for a lot to play in 2025, like in 2021, but if he can come close, he's an important addition. Canales is optimistic about what Renflo can do to make the Panthers' passing game better.
