Cathy Ventura returns to the eyewitness stands Friday to testify on the fourth day at Sean “Diddy” Combs' sex trafficking trial.

Defense attorneys began cross-examining the Starr's witnesses on Thursday, pushing her to read the text messages out loud. The text message appears to indicate her expressive desire for sex in drug fuel groups – she testified that she had previously testified.

For the first time during the trial there was some tension among lawyers about timing. In a letter to the judge, the prosecutors argued that the defense would close their doubts in time to allow prosecutors to follow up on Friday, citing concerns about Ventura's “health and safety” and possible misconceptions if she went into work with her third child.
“Inefficient in cross-examination yesterday” the government wrote, “proposes the inference that the defendant hopes to achieve the results accurately.”
Ventura is 8 and a half months pregnant.
Day 5
Defense attorney Anna Estebao has resumed cross-examination with questions related to recordings of combs attacking Ventura at a hotel in Los Angeles. In it, Comb can be seen throwing Ventura onto the floor, kicking her, and dragging her into the hotel hallway.

Estevao asked Ventura to read the text message aloud, complaining that the comb was out of control from drugs and alcohol that day. In her message, Ventura told Combs: “I'm not a rag doll. I'm someone else's child.”
In the text message, reading aloud to the ju umpire, combs and Ventura once again expressed their love for each other a few days after the attack.
Ventura told Combs in one text: “We need a different atmosphere than Friday.”

She also told the court that Combs is wary of paying attention to her dates and other men, even during a decade-long relationship break.
The hip-hop star confiscated her phone multiple times, including when she found out she was dating a football player or when she suspected she was dancing with singer Chris Brown.

Ventura did not name the player and refused to dance with Brown.
The defense also performed her audio recordings in Ventura, threatening a man who hinted at seeing a video of her performance's sexual act in 2014. Ventura pleads to use blasphemy to threaten him by watching the video.
“It's my life and I'll kill you,” she could hear her screaming at the man with her exp. “I have never killed anyone in my life, but I will kill you.”

She had previously testified that Combs told her he told her not to drive the man out of her sight until she found out what was going on.
Ventura admitted that Combs testified that he subsequently worked to keep the video private. Despite testifying that Ventura tried to blackmail her by threatening to release the video, it appears they are trying to establish that Ventura and Combs have united in their efforts to keep the video private.
Ventura testified that she united with Combs in August 2018 after seeing a photo of him with another woman he had been dating for the last few years of her 10-year relationship.
“I don't trust you anymore. That last shot put my nails in ffin,” she texted Combs, referring to the woman who identified Combs' photo as Gina in court.

“If you did that to me again, I promised I wouldn't be with you anymore,” she told Combs, “You lied to me” and “She never left.”
Soon, she said she began dating her now husband, Alex Fein.
“Don't you get the chance to get things right?” Combs texted Ventura shortly after their final breakup. “Don't I take care of you?”
“You took care of me materially, not where I needed it,” she replied. “I had to make you love me and put me first.”
Estebao rapes her when the pair meet for dinner and asks Ventura if she still has feelings for the comb after he allegedly raped her when Ventura began to part ways.
“You didn't hate him at the time, and you still don't hate him,” Estebao said.
“I don't hate him,” Ventura replied.
“Do you still love him?”
“I love the past.

Ventura then confirmed that she got the video from the fine right after their breakup and alleged rape in 2018 when she had sex with the comb.
“Your now husband didn't know you were with Mr. Combs at the time, right?” Estebao asked. Ventura said the fines eventually found gender and rape suspicions, which prompted him to punch the wall.
Ventura's testimony ended on Friday with a bomb disclosure. She expects to receive a US$10 million settlement from the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, and said she was attacked by Combs in 2016.
She revealed the numbers during a questioning by a Combs lawyer during her testimony stage, known as Recross. She said the figure was an estimate and recently reached a settlement. She did not reveal the nature of her claims about the hotel.
The revelation came after the defense tried to suggest that she had cancelled the music tour after the defense had settled the lawsuit against Combs up to $20 million and no longer needed the money the tour would bring.
Not true, Ventura told her lawyer that she had cancelled the tour because she was overwhelmed and didn't want to leave her family for a long time.
At the end of Friday's testimony, Ventura's legal team shared a statement on her behalf. “This week has been extremely challenging, but it has also given me remarkably empowering and healing me, and I hope that my testimony will give strength and voice to other survivors and help others who are struggling to speak out of abuse and fear.
“For me, if I remember enough to heal, I will never forget, if I remember, I will never forget. I would like to thank my family and advocates for the unwavering support they have.
“I'm happy to be able to rest this chapter in my life. When I start focusing on the conclusions of my pregnancy, I look for privacy from me and my growing family.”
Her husband also shared a statement Friday afternoon.
“For the past five days, the world has come to witness the power and courage that my wife can release herself from the past.”
He continued. “I had a lot of stuff sitting there. I felt an incredible pride and overwhelming love for Cas. Know this to those who helped her and the people who helped him on the way, sitting in front of those who tried to break her. Games with our little girl.
He added that it was insult to say he saved her. “Kathy saved Cathy. She was the only one who was freed from abuse, coercion, violence and threats. She did the job of fighting the demons that only the devil herself could have done.”
What the comb is on trial
US prosecutors claim that for 20 years behind the scenes, Combs had forced and abused women with the help of a network of fellow networks who silenced the victims through fearful mail and violence.
Combs is faced with charges that include a freak-off description defined in court documents as “a sex performance in which Combs is placed, directed, masturbated and often recorded electronically.”
Prosecutors accused Combs of suffocating, crashing, kicking and dragging him, and silenced people, prosecuting him, according to the people. One indictment alleges that the comb hanged someone from the balcony.
Dozens of men and women allege in lawsuits that abused them, but the trial highlights the claims of four women.
Comb is charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy to engage in prostitution and assault on transport. He denied all charges against him, opting to go to trial instead, and refused a plea deal.
If convicted in a New York court, he could face life in prison.
