Prosecutors at Sean “Diddy” Combs Sex's trafficking and assault trials have shown they are no longer pursuing several allegations against the music mogul, including attempts to fire and attempts to lure them.
In a letter to the judge, the government said theories of supporting and relying on sex trafficking would not be pursued either.
“The government does not plan to advance these theories of responsibility, so instructions are no longer necessary,” the prosecutor wrote in a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian.
“Specifically, the government has (i) accused of attempting to lure under both California and New York laws, (ii) an arson under California laws, and (iii) an attempt to promote and be blame for sex trafficking. The government no longer needs direction.”
The lawyer meets with Subramanian on Wednesday to discuss further ju judge directions.
The latest move by the prosecutors comes after Combs' lawyers have argued that they have not been proven after they argued to abandon the charges. The judge said he would control it at a later date.
Prosecutors called 34 witnesses to assault the conspiracy charges that led to Combs' September arrest, including sex trafficking and two former Combs girlfriends who felt forced into a marathon sex event with male sex workers known as “freak-off” or “hotel night.”
But the defense attorney says they are consensual sexual encounters that match the Swingers lifestyle.
The attempted arson stemmed from Kid Cudy's testimony after learning about his relationship with Combs' ex-girlfriend Kathy Ventura, and then claiming that Combs had broken into his home.

In January 2012, Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mestudy, said his dog watcher called him from his home to let him know that his car was on fire. He said he was at his ex-girlfriend's sister's house about 45 minutes away.

His friend sent him photos of his damaged car in his driveway, and those photos were shown to the ju apprentice.
Mescudi described the photo as “damage to my Porsche Molotov cocktail.”

“The top of my Porsche looks like it's open, and there was a Molotov cocktail in it,” he added.
He said that law enforcement found a Molotov cocktail in the driver's seat, but when he got home he “had been burned out a bit.”
When Mescudi was asked about his reaction to the fire, he said, “What f—?”
After his car was said to have been on fire, Mescudi demanded that he meet the comb. When asked why he wanted to meet him, the rapper replied that he reached out as he claimed he knew that Combs was somehow involved in the fire.

Combs' lawyers opposed Mescudi's speculation, and his answer was struck by the record. Combs has not been proven responsible for the car fire, and his involvement has never been confirmed.
Ultimately, no one was charged with arson in the case.

Combs, 55, pleaded not guilty and remains jailed without bail in Brooklyn's federal lockup after multiple judges concluded he was dangerous to the community last fall.
It is the standard practice for a judge to ask the defendant directly whether the judge will testify, regardless of what the lawyer said to him, to ensure that the defendant knows that it is his decision.
When it was time for the Subramanians to question the comb after the prosecutor took a break, the judge asked how he was doing.
“I'm doing great things, your honor,” replied the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment.
“I want to thank you, you're doing a great job,” Combs said.
Combs said he had a “full” discussion of the matter with his lawyer before deciding not to testify.
“That's my decision and your honor,” Combs said. “It's just my decision.”
He made even more clear when stabbed by the judge. “I mean, it's my decision with my lawyer… I'll make my decision.
Discussions for the closing session were scheduled tentatively on Thursday.
