The woman known as the “Queen of Ketamine” was charged with selling Matthew Perry, the drug that killed him, and agreed to plead guilty on Monday.
Jasveen Sangha will become the fifth final defendant accused of death from a friend's star overdose to win a judicial agreement with federal prosecutors. The change in her plea, which initially pleaded not guilty, means avoiding a trial planned in August.
Prosecutors cast Sanga as a prolific drug dealer known to clients as the “Queen of Ketamine.” This term was often used in press releases and court documents and was included in the official name of cases.
The federal complaint accused Sangha of one conspiracy to distribute ketamine. They charged one count maintaining a drug-involved facility, possession with the intention to distribute methamphetamine, one possession with the purpose of distributing ketamine, and five counts of distribution of ketamine.
Sangha will officially turn the plea into guilty at upcoming hearings where the sentence is scheduled, prosecutors said. She was able to go to prison for up to 45 years. An email sent to a Sanga lawyer seeking comment was not immediately answered.
Dr. Salvador Placencia, who signed her own plea agreement on June 16th, was the main target of the investigation. Three other defendants – Dr. Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa and Eric Fleming, agreed to plead guilty last year in exchange for cooperation, including statements that include Sanga and Placencia.

Perry was found dead in a Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023 by his assistant Iwa Masasa. Medical inspectors determined that ketamine, which is usually used as a surgical anesthetic, was the main cause of death.
The actors have used the drug legal but non-adaptive treatment for depression through regular doctors, which is becoming more and more common. Perry, 54, wanted more ketamine than the doctors gave him. He began to get it from Placencia about a month before his death, and then began to acquire more hands from Sanga about two weeks before his death, prosecutors said.

Perry and Iwamasa find Sanga through Perry's friend Fleming. In their judicial agreement, both men detailed the subsequent deal.
According to court documents, Fleming sent a message to Iwamasa, who said that Sanga's ketamine was “unmarked but surprising.” Fleming texted Iwamasa, saying, “We're just dealing with high-end and celebrities.” If it wasn't great, she'd lose business.”
As the two men act as intermediaries, Perry purchased a large amount of ketamine from the Sanga. The purchase included the dose that killed Perry, prosecutors said.

On the day of Perry's death, Sanga told Fleming that, according to her indictment, all messages they sent to each other should be deleted.
Her home in North Hollywood, California was attacked in March 2024 by agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency who discovered a large amount of methamphetamine and ketamine, according to the agent's affidavit. She was charged that June, arrested that August, and has been held in prison ever since.
None of the defendants have been declared yet.
Perry struggled with addiction for years, going back to his friend and becoming one of the biggest stars of his generation as Chandler Bin. He starred with Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Cudlow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer for 10 seasons in the NBC megahit series from 1994 to 2004.
