Yes, I know there's a new album coming up in Taylor Swift. Yes, I know that she and Travis Kelsey are engaged.
Yes, there are all sorts of speculation about wedding dates, maids of honor, and the best man. And yes, she is currently an odds-on favorite to perform the Super Bowl halftime show. But believing that isn't the case, many other albums will be coming out this fall. Here is a summary of what you'll look forward to after September 1st.
September 5th
Big Thief, Double Infinity (4ad)
Big Thieves are an interesting band that is difficult to categorize styles. This sixth album was recorded for just three weeks at Power Station, a well-known NYC studio.
David Byrne, who is the sky? (Matador)
A few weeks ago, David Byrne shattered everyone's hopes about a reunion of Talking Head. Especially Byrne, no one in the group seems interested in going back together. why? He does a lot. Recorded by the Ghost Train Orchestra, this record is his 11th solo record (Talking Heads released only eight studio albums). I was impressed with what I've heard so far.
Shame, Cutthroat (Dead Sea)
Shame is a 5-piece post-punk band from South London with impressive support and critical acclaim. It's a raucous record for a noisy world. That's what you need.
Suede, antidepressants (BMG rights management)
Suede appeared in the small gap between Mudchester and Britpop, allowing him to navigate things for over 30 years. This will be their 10th album.

September 12th
David Bowie: I can't pass everything (2002-2016) Parlophone
Fans will recognize the title of this collection as the title of his last studio album, Black Star, which was released in 2016 hours before Bowie's death. This is a huge box set (6th in the series) with 13 CDs and 18 pieces of vinyl. As the title says, it covers material from his Pagan Album (2002) to the Black Star and comes with an 84-page hardback book. The best pre-order Canada price I've seen is $265.
King Princess, Girl of Violence (Section 1)
If you haven't discovered Michaela Murany Strauss from New York yet, this might be the album that does it. She can already sell out medium sized venues based solely on word of mouth. She is a hero of the lesbian and genderkia community. This will be the third album here.
September 19th
Buckingham Knicks, Buckingham Knicks (spirit)
The long-standing album featuring Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks was released a few years before joining Fleetwood Macs. I was looking at this in the 70s in the removal bin, and time can heal such wounds.

Nine Inch Nail: Ares Soundtrack (Interscope Recode)
Both Nin and Tron fans were sent to Ecstasy when they heard that Trent Reznor and his partner Atticus Ross had been asked to write a soundtrack for the franchise's latest release. Are they better than Daftpunk with Tron in 2010: Legacy? I think so based on what I've heard so far.
Laura Young, I'm just going to do my f-self (island)
Laura is a fascinating English singer. She was awarded or nominated for numerous awards in the UK, but also has a history of schizoaffective disorder, diagnosed in 2017 at the age of 17. Lola also has the issue of vocal cord cysts that are hindering the ability to tour.
September 26th
Robert Plant, nonsuch
The plant has long been back with Led Zeppelin. In fact, when he tours this record, he says the music has nothing to do with what he does today, so he doesn't play ZEP songs. This will be his first true solo album since 2017.
XTC, drums, wires (Steve Wilson Dolby Mix) (Ape House)
XTC was a meticulous perfectionist in the studio. How does this 1977 release sound like in multi-channel Atmos forms?
October 3rd
AFI: Silver bleeding waist day… (running for covering)
Most people know AFI as a Northern California band that hit with Don Henry's Boys of Summer cover, but fans know it belongs to their 12th album. The word is that it will feature a song or two with a rockin's stompers and an obvious goth atmosphere.
Oasis, (What is the story?) Glory of the Morning (Big Brother)
Oasis hasn't missed the trick when it comes to generating revenue from reunion tours. From $155 T-shirts for sale at gigs and pop-up stores to this 30th anniversary edition of their second album, they find ways to serve their rabies fan base. I don't think you're bothered to release this on the same day as Tay-Tay's The Life of a Showgirl.
October 10th
Horn, blight (violated)
Antlers releases some of the saddest, most heartbreaking and honest depressing songs I've ever heard (check out our 2010 album Hospice if you want to see what I mean). This album will probably continue in that vein. When the first single was entitled Carnage, what else can we believe?
John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Plastic Ono Band and Elephant Memory, Power for People (Ultimate Collection) (Capitol)
Trend now
Hiker recovers after falling near Skamish after 18m
What will happen to Trump's tariffs now that the federal court of appeals overthrow them?
If you've ever thought, “Yoko is missing in my life,” you're lucky. All of John and Yoko's unreleased collaborations are collected in one box set. It includes 12 CDs with 90 tracks that have never been released before, from demos, home recordings, live performances and more. Expect to spend $300 north on this.
October 17th
Every single time is low, everyone is talking (record of underground noise)
This is the 10th Baltimore Band album. A pop punk dosage for when the weather starts to get cold.
October 24th
Just mustard, we were just here (party faction)
My interest in this experimental Irish band only grew with each single they released. This third album could lead to a breakthrough.
Lemon Head, chant of love (Tue)
For all possibilities, Evan Dund is still with him. After disappearing again, the record (first since 2019) is the band's 11th album, dating back all the way back to 1986.
November 7th
Finger Eleven, Last Night on Earth (better noise music)
Has it really been ten years since The Last Finger Eleven album? Yes, but the break is coming to an end. According to the band, “big rock records” are promised.
Sorry, cosplay (Dominos)
More interesting British indie music. Sorry, I've been scooped up by Domino, the home of groups that come from North London, including Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, my bloody Valentine's Day, wet legs, and dozens of other cool indie groups around the world. The moment I think the band is signing a deal with Domino, I'm interested.
White Lies, Luminous (Fiction)
About 15 years ago I discovered the White Rise, a modern Joy Division London band. They fell off my radar, but I made a note to check out their seventh album.
November 21st
Beatles Anthology Collection (Capitol/Apple/Ume)
There appears to be an infinite supply of materials due to the myriad of Beatles fans. This is a remastered collection of three original anthology collections released in 1995 and 1996. This time, George's son Giles Martin has updated the audio in 2025. During the Pepper era, he had a legendary position among the Beetle Maniacs. I remain trapped in Abbey Road Archives.
Danko Jones, Leo Rising (Sonic Union)
If there are bands that are as honest, authentic and difficult as Danco Jones, I'm not listening to them. The 12th album, 11 tracks, is as loud and rough as the other 11, and promises to be soaked in beer.
Release date: TBA
Asia: Still untitled. Only Geoff Downes remains from the early 80s lineup Blondie. It's still untitled. This is my first album since 2017.
