Federal Health Minister Marjorie Michel is scheduled to meet with provincial and territorial officials in Calgary today, and they say they want a commitment from Ottawa to increase health funding in next month's budget.

Adriana Lagrange, Alberta's Minister of Primary and Preventive Health Services, said provinces and territories are facing increased demands on their health-care systems and the federal government needs to step up support.

She said provincial and territorial ministers also expect a commitment from Ottawa to move away from a “one-size-fits-all” funding program.
