After his recent appearance as a transgender person, Robert De Niro has expressed his “love and support” to his daughter, Ean de Niro.
“I loved and supported Aaron as a son, and now I love and support Aaron as a daughter. I don't know what a big deal,” 81-year-old Robert De Niro told Variety in a statement. “I love all the kids.”
In a recent interview with them, Airyn, 29, spoke about “standing into this new identity” and shared details about growing up as one of the seven children in the De Niro household.
“There's a difference between what you can see and what you can see,” Aerin told the outlet. “I was visible. I don't think I've seen it yet.”
“We don't have a perfect parent, but I'm grateful that they agreed to bring me into the spotlight,” Aerin said.
She also spoke openly about feeling like a “slow bluemer.”
“I've always been told that I'm either too much something or not enough that I'm growing up. It's too big, not skinny. “It was never the case, 'You're just right, it seems you're there.”
She revealed that she decided to start hormone therapy last November.

“I want to be the inspiration for at least one other person like me who is black, queer, and not a sized size,” Airyn said. “I want to see more trans women, more big or many black women who are either ultra-thin or don't fit the heroin chic mold.”
Aerin also discussed the people he admired when Orange decided to publish her transition, including new Black Star Rubbern Cox.
“Trans women are becoming more and more seen in public spaces, such as social media, and in success,” Aerin said. “I was like, 'What do you know? Maybe it's not too late for me.”

After reading Airyn's interview, Cox took her to Instagram to share a video dedicated to her.
“I just want to give a moment and give a special cry to Ean de Niro. Hello, I am one of the women who have inspired you over the years and I am deeply and deeply honored to be able to be your inspiration,” Cox said.
“I often find myself in these deeply troublesome times – especially in these deeply troublesome times – there are moments where I feel like I'm not doing enough. I should do more. And I always have to remember that if I can be exposed to one person's life, I can accept all aspects of them in order for one person to be more of themselves and live like the real thing, and that is sufficient and that is sufficient.
“Reading it from you, Aerin reminded me that I am enough. I am enough, I am enough. I want to congratulate you on your being.

After the Airyn interview was published, she took her to Instagram to thank her for all the support she received.
“Thank you to everyone who was so sweet and supportive! I'm not used to me in all of these eyes,” she wrote. “Also, for those who ask if I have a representative or sign someone, I'm literally a girl with a phone, so I'm sorry if I missed your message!”

Airyn's mother is actor Toukie Smith, who shares Airyn and her twin brother Julian, 29, with De Niro.
The Flower Moon actor murderer is also the father of daughter Drena (53) and son Raphael (48) and is shared with his ex-wife Dianne Abbott, who married between 1976 and 1988.
He is also the father and daughter Helen Grace, 13, of his 27-year-old son Elliott, who shares with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower. He welcomed his 2-year-old daughter Gia along with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen in April 2023.
