Former Superman actor Dean Cain has announced that he will be joining the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE).

In an interview with Fox News Wednesday, the former Superman star, who is already a qualified police officer, said, “I will be sworn as an ice agent as soon as possible.”

“These brave men and women need someone to stand up for them, referring to ice agents tasked with enforcing President Donald Trump's massive deportation scheme,” he said.

“This is like people have to step up. I'm stepping up. Hopefully, a lot of other former officers, former ice agents will step up and quickly help them achieve their recruitment goals and protect this country.

“The country was built on whether or not the patriots were stepping up and doing the right thing.”

According to Ice's official recruitment page, the Open Deportation Officer position offers a salary of USD 105,383 per year. Last week, the agency said it had 1,000 interim jobs for new agents as part of a surge in employment, with the intention of hiring a total of 10,000.

Agency spokesman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that the agency has begun remittances for job offers.

“ICE has already issued more than 1,000 interim job offers since July 4th. Many of these offers were for ICE officers who retired under President Biden because they were unhappy about not being allowed to do the job,” she said.

“Now under President Trump and his secretary (Christie) Noem, Ice is excited to return to work to remove rapists, murderers, gang members and pedophiles from our community.”

The department announced Wednesday that “more patriots are eligible to participate in ICE” to remove the age limit for new applicants.

Kane played Superman in the TV series Lois & Clark: Superman's New Adventures from 1993 to 1997.

On Wednesday, Cain posted his own ice recruitment video to X. Speaking directly to the camera, he encouraged Americans to sign up and “help to ensure all Americans are safe.”

“This will give me the opportunity to participate in ICE,” he continued. He goes on to say that $50,000 signature bonuses, student loan repayments and enhanced retirement benefits are all listed on the Homeland Security website.

“If you want to help save America, Ice is arresting the worst and worst cases and removing them from the streets of America,” Cain said in the video.
