8 Mile Style, the music publisher of rapper Eminem, is suing Meta, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.
His organization filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Mark Zuckerberg's technical conglomerate on Friday, citing misuse of the rapper's use of more than 243 songs.
According to the lawsuit, Meta was unable to secure the license required to store, distribute and reproduce music from its eight-mile-style catalog.

“The defendant had no license to store, reproduce or distribute infringed works, but he still made and saved copies of the infringed works on the server, encouraged their use, and distributed copies of them to billions of users and the general global masses.”
Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that meta users were able to attach 243 songs owned in the eight-mile style to the post, and that they knowingly allow for use without a license, thus promoting inducing copyright infringement, copyright infringement and copyright infringement.

“This case involves Meta first replicating and storing them in Meta's online music library, which will allow Meta to compromise the eight-mile configuration and distribute them for users to incorporate (or “sync”) into their photos, videos or videos, to make public streaming available to users on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.”
According to CBS, in 2020, Meta concluded a licensing agreement with digital music royalty collection company Oudium. I was unable to obtain an 8-mile style license under the AudiAM license.

According to the current meta lawsuit, the 8-mile Style had previously contacted the company regarding alleged copyright infringement. This wiped out “some of the eight-mile compositions in the music library” and “some of the eight-mile compositions in the music library” from Hit Song Lose Yourself.
The Karaoke version of the song, “Lose Yourself Style), a piano instrumental cover entitled “Lose Yourself Yourself Version,” and a regular cover version by an artist named Urock, “Everything remains available for the date of this complaint,” Filing said.
The 8-mile style calls for USD 150,000 per song used on each platform. The platform has now made available a court order that prevents songs from using music “$150,000 per hour, 243 work per hour, three platforms,” and a litigation order.
The total amount required is approximately USD 109 million. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mothers, is not the plaintiff's name.
In response to the filing, Meta issued the following statement:
“Meta has licenses with thousands of partners around the world and a wide range of global licensing programs for music on its platform. Meta was in good faith negotiating in an 8-mile style, but rather than continuing those discussions, the 8-mile style chose to appeal.”
