The “Paper” creator explains why Oscar was the perfect “office” spinoff – National

The "paper" creator explains why oscar was the perfect "office"

The office may be over, but the world is far from the end as its spinoff, paper, has mock-mentary style and humor, and introduces new characters in new missions.

This time, the crew of the same documentary, following Michael Scott and Scranton's Dunder Mifflin employees, focuses on local newspapers in Midwest, Ohio.

Global News spoke about office director Greg Daniels, office director who has returned to the helm of the paper, and their decision to bring back the new series and Oscar Nuñez, who has reiterated their roles from the original series.

“The bones of the show are that it's a documentary and the documentary's crew is the main connective tissue. We obviously have an Oscar, but the crew is looking for another subject of the documentary.

Daniels said it was an easy decision to get Nunez back because he is a “great actor.”

“His character didn't have the same closure that many other characters did in the office finale. There's even more that he goes (on) without us getting back to what we've settled down,” he added.

Daniels and Coman said at the beginning of the show, Oscar was “terrified that he'll embark on it again.”

“He really doesn't want to be involved, but the other characters are more innocent and they're just explaining what they're doing on paper. They feel a bit off until Domerle Gleason shows up,” Daniels revealed.
