President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with the European Union on Sunday, setting tariffs at 15% and ending months of uncertainty surrounding trade with the largest US trading partner.
The tariff rate is a decline from the 30% that Trump threatened on July 12th to the 20% that he said would be imposed on April 2nd.
Announcement of the agreement, Trump said the EU would not impose tariffs on US imports. He added that the deal is “satisfactory for both parties.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday with Trump that the agreement “provides stability. It brings predictability. It is very important for our business on both sides of the Atlantic.”
But Trump said the 50% tariffs on steel remain unchanged, and there could be more tariffs going forward for the drugs. Trump recently threatened a 200% tariff on Pharma products.
“Meet the media”
Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and D-Calif's Ro Khanna have opposed whether Trump should relent on longtime Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as they are working with the Trump administration to release federal files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Whatever is necessary to force Maxwell's testimony, as long as it's true, I'll be in my advantage.” Massie told NBC News in a joint interview with Kanna saying, “Meet the media.”
Meanwhile, Kanna believes she's “worried” about forgiveing Maxwell, “No, I won't,” and commuting her prison, and meeting with Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche last week.
“Look, I agree with MP Massie that she should testify, but she has been charged twice with perjury, which is why she needs a file,” Kanna added.
In another interview, R-La. “It's not my lane,” Mike Johnson, speaker of the film, told moderator Kristen Welker that he would postpone the president about whether Maxwell should be forgiven.
Johnson later added: “If you're listening to my opinion, I think 20 years should at least have a life sentence. So think of all these indescribable crimes. And, as you mentioned earlier, probably 1,000 victims.

When Israel announces “tactical pause” in combat, Senator Lindsey Graham says there's no way to negotiate with Hamas
Israel has suspended fighting in several parts of the Gaza Strip and announced it is fighting to promote the provision of aid after international outrage has risen over the leaching of deaths caused by malnutrition and widespread starvation caused by humanitarian aid restrictions.
An announcement made by the Israeli Defence Forces said that in some of Gaza's most populous regions, “humanitarian corridors” will be implemented for a “humanitarian suspension.”
Meanwhile, Senator Lindsey Graham, Rs.C. said in an interview with NBC News, “Meet the Press,” that Israel believes there is no way to safely negotiate the end of the war with Hamas, and Israel took over Gaza and compared its movement with the US actions at the end of the World War.
“They do what they did in Gaza in Tokyo and Berlin, and hope that they will replace them with force, present a better future for the Palestinians, and that the Arabs will take over the West Bank and Gaza,” he added.

Live andlet Dyes: A competition to replace artificial food colorings

Food manufacturers across the US, big and small, are facing hurdles as they try to phase out synthetic food dyes.
Kraft Heinz, Nestle, General Mills and major ice cream makers are all broader moves by states that vow to move towards natural coloring amid the Trump administration's driving force to remove artificial dyes from the country's food supply, and ban them due to safety concerns.
This transition presents challenges to food companies in developing reliable and cost-effective natural dyes that are generally expensive and challenging, requiring higher concentrations to achieve the same shade. This shift also raises questions about the long-term impact of natural dyes on consumer health.
The Texas-based Atkinson Candy Company produces chickpea candy bars and is one of the small manufacturers struggling to maintain their distinctive tints while abolishing synthetic food dyes.
“They say that taste is king in the industry, but color is queen,” explained CEO Eric Atkinson. “The Queen is very important.”
