Waymo announced on Tuesday that it will bring both Jaguar I-Pace SUV and Zeekr Van vehicles to Denver and Seattle starting this week.
The vehicle is driven to start manually before starting testing autonomous technology in both cities. Waymo told TechCrunch that he wanted to start offering Robotaxi travel in Denver and the Seattle metropolitan area next year. Denver and Seattle will become two of the most extreme weather cities that Waymo feels, giving them the opportunity to test their technology in the snow, wind and rain in places like Phoenix.
The new city joined Waymo's ever-growing list of locations operating in the US last week. The company announced that it has over 2,000 Robotaxis in its domestic commercial fleet. Waymo also announced plans to launch commercial Robotaki services in Dallas, Miami and Washington, DC next year, and recently received permission to start testing in New York City.
That goes without saying that other cities where Waymo has dipped his toes. They will be bringing their vehicles to places like Philadelphia on a so-called “road trip” and doing the same in Las Vegas, San Diego, Houston, Orlando and San Antonio.
